Marsha G. Scherer

Marsha G. Scherer, 62 of Lapel, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at her home following an extended illness.


She was born on July 6, 1954, in Anderson, Indiana, to Hobart and Marjorie Helen (Bless) Ballarad.

Marsha graduated from Lapel High School in 1972 as completed the course of study at Indiana Business College.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Garry "Buff" Scherer; one daughter, Tarra Scherer (Shane Kernodle) of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Chyanna Scherer (Alexander Mason) and Brady Giguere; one great-granddaughter, Haiden Mason; one brother, Hobie (wife, Michelle) Ballard of Mitchell; and a special niece, Tia Vondersaar.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Doug Scherer; and her step-father, Stanley Howell.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
