Mark H. Hanshew, 80, Anderson, passed away October 7, 2014 after a brief illness.
He was born July 3, 1934, in Anderson, the son of the late Henry and Marie (Tucker) Hanshew. He served in the US Navy and retired in 1987 from Delco Remy after 35 years. He was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a former member of the Elk’s Lodge. Mark was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he loved wood carving and was an avid bicyclist for many years riding over 10,000 miles a year.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mildred K. (McFall) Hanshew of Anderson; two sons, Mark Alan (Kim) Hanshew and Scott David (Dawn) Hanshew all of Anderson; three grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) Hanshew of Evansville, Taylor Hay and Madison Hanshew both of Anderson; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Carolyn) McFall, Keith McFall and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Maradean Johnson, Henrimarie Hanshew and Marilyn Hanshew.
Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 310 East 53rd St., Anderson, IN with Pastor Matt Manning officiating. Burial will be at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton.
Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory and hour prior to service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
