Marjorie G. Hoffman, 97, Anderson, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006, at Manor Care Health Services Anderson following an extended illness.
She was born on March 1, 1908, in Madison County, Indiana to Samuel and Winnefred (Bartholomew) Gwinn. She was a 1926 Lapel High School graduate and was employed at Delco Remy for over 20 years. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, the Alpha Circle at Bethel United Methodist Church, the Mount Moriah Order of Eastern Star and the former Lapel Order of Eastern where she was a past matron, the No Name Bridge Clup and the Carousel Club. She also served on the Job's Daughters Council. The family would like to thank her friends at Love Bears for their caring help.
She is survived by Daughter, Phyllis "Pinkie" (husband, Gene) Magers of Anderson; one grandson, James (wife, Beth) Magers of Noblesville; and two great-grandsons, John Magers, and Daniel Magers. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Hoffman in 1967; and by her special friend, Ralph Wellons. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel where a Order of Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 606, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0606 or the American Cancer Society.
