Marion L. Hovermale

Marion Hovermale, 76, of Anderson, passed away on November 8, 2021, at Ascension St Vincent’s Hospital in Anderson. He was born on January 25, 1945, in Anderson to the late Forrest and Doratha (Miller) Hovermale. Marion faithfully served our country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1976. He graduated from General Motors Institute with bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Marion worked for General Motors for over 30 years. Marion’s philanthropic interests included working with the Little 500, the Paramount Theater, the Humane Society, and the St. John’s Children Clinic. He also served as a long-time board member of the St. Vincent Foundation. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing guitar. He is survived by his sons, John (Julie) Armington and Chad (Angela) Hovermale; daughter, Molly Hovermale; Step-Daughters, Heather (Daniel) Ramsey, and Ashley Taylor partner Brian Fabian; his brothers, Larry (Brenda) Hovermale, and Don Hovermale; Sister, Connie (Larry) Miles; Grandchildren, Haley (Cameron), Whitney, Walker, Tessera, Regi, Cora Danae, Samuel, Axel, and Ruby; and his Great-Grandchildren, Addyson and Jaxon. Marion was preceded in death by his spouse Dixie (Contos) Hovermale, and his parents. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. Services will take place at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Marion’s name may be donated to the St. John’s Children’s Clinic.
