Marilyn Stewart, 87, formerly of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Anderson on October 20, 1927, the daughter of the late Arnold and Laura Alfreda (Biest) Bluemle and was a lifelong resident of Anderson until 8 years ago when she went to live with her son and daughter-in-law in Milwaukee, WI.
Marilyn graduated from Anderson High School and the International Business College in Ft. Wayne. She was married to William (Bill) W. Stewart for 51 years until his death in 2004. She worked as a private secretary at Willys Motors and then as a dedicated homemaker. Marilyn was an active volunteer including Youth for Understanding (student foreign exchange program), Hillcrest Home for Girls, and Reach for Recovery for breast cancer survivors. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed volunteering her time and served on committees and as a trustee. She was a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority. Marilyn was a loving person, joyous and happy, who enjoyed time with family and her many friends. She was a supportive and loving mother. She maintained her witty sense of humor to the end of her life.
Marilyn is survived by her son, William A. (wife, Katherine) Stewart of Milwaukee, WI; three grandsons William, Robert (wife, Kelly) and John; great-grandson, Caed; sisters-in-law Patricia Bluemle and Elaine Reed; and much loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers Jack Bluemle and Thomas Bluemle and sister-in-law Judith Black.
Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8th at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Bausman officiating.
Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
