Marianna O. Schulte

Marianna O. Schulte, 86, of Anderson passed away on April 1, 2023, surrounded by family. Marianna was born on April 2, 1936, in Pendleton to the late Howard and Mary (Pettigrew) Owens. She attended Pendleton High School, and then went on to cosmetology school in Anderson. She worked for General Motors/Delco-Remy for a number of years. She was also a beautician and owned her own salon in Middletown. Marianna found her spiritual home at Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church and loved attending Rev. Bill Ledbetter’s services. She enjoyed cooking, baking cakes and pies, gardening, crocheting, knitting, making stained glass, shopping, and traveling. Most importantly, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marianna will be dearly missed by her husband of 37 years, David; children, Brent (Karen) Justice and Tara (Philip) Harrington; step-son, David Schulte; grandchildren, Brandon (fiancé, Delaney) Justice, Trent Justice, Kent Lee (Morgan) Justice, and Candace (John) Lytell; 5 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Albert Schulte; sisters-in-law, Betty Schulte and Nelda Carmack; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kent Justice; siblings, Eugene Nelson Owens, Howard Walter Owens, Jr., Robert Ellis Owens, James Edward Owens, Julianna Owens, Flora Elizabeth “Betty” Granger, and Virginia R. Klett; and special aunt, Stella Pettigrew

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grovelawn Cemetery.
