Marian Frances Noggle

Marian Frances Noggle, 101, Noblesville, entered into her heavenly reward Tuesday, December 1, 2015, a place she longed to go. She was born on October 11, 1914, in Hamilton County, Indiana to Nicholas and Vella (Thompson) Tescher and had lived at Hillcrest Farm in White River Township, Hamilton County for all but the first two years of her life. Marian graduated from Lapel High School in 1931 and received her undergraduate degree in 1935 from the former Marion College (now Indiana Wesleyan University) and later received a Master's degree from Butler University. She retired in 1976 after teaching high school English and Latin for 38 years and touched thousands of lives in the school corporations of Carmel, Walnut Grove, and Lapel. She was active in state Latin and English contests and her students won many awards. She was a life-long member of the Victory Chapel Community Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, song leader, and librarian. She chose her life scripture at age 5, Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see GodMatthew 5:8 Marian and her husband loved to travel, visiting five continents and all fifty states. She was actively involved in the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teacher's society and was president of the Madison County chapter. She was also active in the Senior Classical League, escorting student tours to Rome and Greece. Mrs. Noggle was a member of the Triangle Club of IWU and a charter member of the National Garden Club, holding an active membership in the Lapel Rural Garden Club. In later years, she spent time oil painting, gardening, and spending her winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. She was an avid fan of the Reds, Pacers, and Colts. Marian is survived by two sons, Jon (wife, Vivian) Noggle of Indianapolis and James Noggle of Noblesville (fiance, Deborah Alley), seven grandchildren, Andrea (husband, Randy) Miller and Gina (husband, Phil) King both of Anderson, Ryan (wife, Amanda) Noggle of Sherman Oaks, CA, Julie (husband, Jacob) Brown of Pendleton, Cassie Noggle of McLean, VA, Cory Noggle of Rockford, IL, and Paul (wife, Tania) Lattimore of Greenwood, a granddaughter-in-law, Robin Lattimore of Indianapolis; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Paul Thomas Noggle; three siblings, Jacob Tescher, Jesse Busby, and Gordon Tescher; and a grandson, Rick Lattimore. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 7, 2015, at Victory Chapel Community Church in Noblesville with Dr. John Landon and Rev. Andrew Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Memorial Cemetery, Noblesville. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Walter and Blanche Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund, Indiana Wesleyan University, Advancement Services, 4201 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana 46953.
