Margaurette Upshaw

Margaurette Upshaw, 98, of Anderson passed away on May 2, 2020 at Providence Anderson. She was born on September 26, 1921 in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late Shelby and Eliza (Owens) Allen. Margaurette obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Anderson College and her Master’s in Education from Ball State University. She retired from Family and Children’s Services as a Child Care Program Director/Pre School Administrator. She was a member of Park Place Church of God, Girl Scouts of America, Charissa Club, Anderson Noon Exchange Club, Anderson Women’s Lions Club, CASA, Mr. and Mrs. Club, and the Rangeline Community Center. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Upshaw of Chicago, Illinois; Allen Upshaw of Texarkana, Texas, and Beth Mathews of Globe, Arizona, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margaurette was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edwin Upshaw, five brothers and one sister. A private burial will take place with a Celebration of Life at a later date.
