Mrs. Margaret S. Carlisle

Margaret S. Carlisle, 85, passed away December 9, 2019. She was born May 31, 1934 in Elwood to the late William & Bertha (Walsh) Stoops. Margaret was a commercial truck driver for Guide for 33 years. She was a member of UAW #663, Madison County Democrat Club, Roosevelt Kennedy Club, Madison County Council, and was past Chief of the Anderson Lion’s Club. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, James “Jim” Carlisle; son, Paul “Tom” Lennen; brother, David Stoops; stepchildren, Jim Carlisle, Kristin Carlisle, Laura McNamara, & Tony Carlisle; grandchildren, Victoria Lennen, Chad Lennen, Danielle Lennen, Bridgett Nelson, & Myka Hoskins; several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Michael E. & Timothy G. Lennen; granddaughter, Christy Hensley; grandson, Michael Lennen; and siblings, Ruth, William, Robert, & Donald Stoops. Services will be at noon Friday, December 13 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Reverend Obadiah Smith, Jr. Entombment will be at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of services. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the Alzheimer’s Association.
