Margaret L. Ricker, 98, Lapel, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at her daughters Noblesville residence following a brief illness.
She was born on November 25, 1908, in Lapel, Indiana to Luther and Christina (Valentine) Wiseman.
She graduated from Lapel High School in 1926.
Margaret was a beautician for nine years in Anderson and she owned and operated American Cleaners in Lapel with her husband for over 40 years and operated it for 10 years after his death.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for 85 years, she was active in the P. T. A. and other community activities. She belonged to several bridge clubs and enjoyed entertaining. Margaret devoted her time to her family and homemaking.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (husband, Keith) Fern of Rochester, Beverly (husband, Chuck) Chase of Noblesville, and Joanne (husband, Woody) Fields of Lapel; six grandchildren, Brian Fern, Scott Fern, David Chase, Bill Chase, Julie Fensler, and Jana Fields; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews..
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, Garland E. Ricker; two sisters, Edith Woodward and Ethel Ward; and three brothers, Everett, Harold and Robert Wiseman. .
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
