M Cassell Whitie Rich

M. Cassell "Whitie" Rich, 92, Anderson, passed away Monday, November 21, 2005, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on May 28, 1913, in Fishersburg, Indiana to Scott and Mary (Teeters) Rich. He was a 1931 Lapel High School graduate. He retired in 1972 from Guide Lamp division of General Motors after 38 years of employment. He enjoyed his hobbies of farming and coon hunting and was a founding member of the Madison County Coon Hunters Club. He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, and the Lapel Optimist Club. He is survived by four children, Jeannie (husband, Steve) Watson of Pendleton, Jim "Zeke" (wife, Julie) Rich of Anderson, Terry (wife, Deborah) Rich of Anderson, and daughter, Peggy (husband, Chris) Nunley of Crown Point; two sisters, Lorene Collins of Lapel, and Kathleen (husband, Elmer) Anderson of Scottsdale, AZ; one brother, Alva "Ab" (wife, Velma) Rich of Lapel; sixteen grandchildren, Amy Brown, Julie Ginley, Stefanie Baker, Shelli Kordes, Scott Rich, Ryan Rich, Rhett Rich, Renae Rich, Sarah Miller, Allison Nunley, Hannah Nunley, Meredith Nunley, Eddie Rich, Danny Rich, Debbie Rich, and Nora Rich; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, ClaraBelle (Hawley) Rich; a son, Harold Rich; a granddaughter, Angie Watson; and a sister, Margaret Whetstone. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ford Street United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 626, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0626.
