Luther “Sam” Johnson, 80, of Anderson, met his Lord and Savior face to face on Nov, 26 2014 from Community Hospital in Anderson, following an extended illness.
He was born September 25, 1934 in Marion, Ohio to the late Luther and Jessie (Derringer) Johnson. Sam worshiped at the Central Community Church and Sharing the Word Ministries.
He had owned and operated Central Heating and Air Conditioning in Anderson for over 30 years. He was working for Container Corporation when he retired. Sam loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed bowling. But his main passion was always for his family.
He is survived his children, Teresa (Billy) Hicks of KY, John ( Lori) Ogle of Anderson, Timothy (Teresa) Johnson of Citra Fl., Loretta (Christopher) Dacosta of Fort Hood Tx., Sam Johnson Jr.; numerous grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and 13 brothers and sisters some surviving and some deceased.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores “Dee” Johnson; a son, Larry Johnson; a daughter, Debra Johnson; and a grandson, Kyle Johnson.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service and Crematory with family members James Johnson and Connie Schnorr officiating.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
Burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Anderson Memorial Park.
