Luther Hodges, Jr., 78, passed away July 9, 2019 after an extended illness. He was a resident of Anderson since 1959, moving here from Alabama. He was born December 25, 1940, to the late Luther C. & Mary Edna (Warren) Hodges, Sr. in Cornersville, TN. Luther was a self-employed contractor for over 40 years. He was a member of Columbus Avenue Church of Christ, a train enthusiast, and mostly remembered for his love of family. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Carol (McCormick) Hodges; sons, Kevin (Teresa) Hodges of Anderson & Mark (Rhonda) Hodges of Knightstown; daughter, Kellie (Seth) Kelley of Anderson; siblings, Louwilla Richardson, Glenn (Cheryl) Hodges, Jimmy (Edith) Hodges, Sybil (Jim) Reeves, Gayron (Sandy) Hodges; 11 grandchildren, Austin (Sicily), Austin (Heather), Evan, Christian, Alex, Matthew, Emily, Emma, & Graham; great grandson, Colt; several nieces, nephews; and special buddy, Tank. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with nephew, Jimmy Lee Hodges officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
