Louis D. Schmitt

Louis D. Schmitt, 78, Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at his residence in Anderson.
He was born on November 2, 1943, in Anderson to Herman W. and Irene E. (Wood) Schmitt.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1961. He served his country in the US Air Force.
He was a long and short haul truck driver for Pilkington Trucking.
Louis is survived by two daughters, Juli Crosby of Portsmouth, Ohio and Tracie Schmitt of Ohio; a brother, Michael (wife, Karolyn) Schmitt of Anderson; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Michael D. Schmitt.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Friday, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protection League, 613 Dewey Street, Anderson, Indiana 46016.
