Lou Ann Fountain, 82, Perkinsville, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012, at Community Hospital of Anderson following a brief illness. She was born on May 18, 1930, in Perkinsville, Indiana to William and Kathryn (Hacker) Murfin. She graduated from Lapel High School in 1948. Lou Ann retired in 1992 from the Madison County Government Center where she worked for many years in Voter Registration. She was a member of the former Lapel Order of Eastern Star Chapter 457 and the Fifth Street United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Walter Gene Fountain; one son, Michael Fountain of Perkinsville; one granddaughter, Mika Fountain (fiance, Corey Lawson) of Perkinsville; one niece, Donna (husband, Mike) Lawther of Lapel; one nephew, Gary (wife, Cindy) Hiday of Indianapolis; a great-niece, Amanda Martin of Fishers; a great-nephew, Jeremiah (wife, Ashley) Martin of Perkinsville; a great-great niece, Maddison Martin; a great-great nephew, Wyatt Martin; and special friends, Alan and Heather Jimenez of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Hiday and an infant sister; a great-nephew, Joshua Martin; and her best friend, Janie Jimenez. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Aleshire officiating. Burial will follow in K. of P. and I. O. O. F. Cemtery, Frankton. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapel-Stony Creek Ambulance Service, P. O. Box 792, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0792.
