Lorraine Rose Monaghan

February 13, 1939 — February 27, 2024

Lorraine Rose Monaghan, 85, of Anderson passed away on February 27, 2024, at her son’s home surrounded by her family. Lorraine was born on February 13, 1939 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Yvan L. and Rose M. (Giroux) Jarbeau. She was married to her first husband, J. Harry “Mike” Monaghan, Jr., for 37 years and then was married to her second husband, Robert Zufall, for 20 years. Lorraine started her career as a LPN at Saint John’s Hickey Memorial Hospital. However, being a loving wife and mother was her true vocation, her family was her whole world. She found her spiritual home at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a faithful member for many years. Lorraine enjoyed playing family games, being outdoors, gardening, going fishing and camping. She was even a member of the Airstream Club.

Lorraine will be dearly missed by her children, Rita Marie Maynard, Theresa Rose (Patrick) Boyer, and Joseph Harry (Kerry) Monaghan; her son-in-law, Nathan Gruel; grandchildren, Dawn Miller, Barbara Lundy, Rose Badalyan, Daniel Maynard, Scott Maynard, Patrick Maynard, Cameron Golish, Michael Golish, Jr., Jasmine Golish, Corey Boyer, Tyler Kuhlman, Joelle Dwyer, Casey Monaghan, Maranda Maier, Patrick Tragesser, Eamonn Tragesser, Killian Tragesser, Joseph Tragesser, Margaret Tragesser, and Mollie Tragesser; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and her sisters, Jackie Miller and Anne Foskuhl.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. Harry “Mike” Monaghan, Jr.; sons, Daniel Brendan Monaghan and Paul Brian Monaghan; son-in-law, Alan Maynard; and brothers-in-law, Forrest Miller and Martin Foskuhl.

The visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM, Monday, March 4, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl St., Anderson, IN 46016. The burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Lorraine’s name may be gifted to St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 951 Anderson, IN 46015.
