Loretta Mae Johnson

Loretta Mae Johnson, 78, of Markleville, IN passed away on October 13, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 6, 1942, in Lee County, Virginia to Howard Lee and Frankie Lee (Gibson) Johnson. Loretta married the love of her life, John Johnson, on August 16, 1963, in Anderson, IN. Her and her “babe” were married for 58 wonderful years. Loretta worked in housekeeping for Henry County Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She found her spiritual home at Greater Light Church and was a faithful member for a number of years. Loretta enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, watching football, and listening to Southern Gospel music. Most importantly, Loretta enjoyed and loved her family. Loretta will be dearly missed by her husband, John; her 4 boys, Marvin (Mary) Johnson, Martin (Michelle) Johnson, Marlin Johnson, and Michael (Angel) Johnson; her grandchildren, Keilah, Cheyenne, Blake Lee, Cody, Micalah, Mara Brooke, Brittany, Brett, and Blayke; her great-grandchildren, Lillyanna, Lucas, Waylon, and Memphis; her sisters, Gerry (Bob) Woods, Juanita (Danny) Lane, Doris (Al) Seleyman, and Katie (Doug) Horton; her beloved friends, Rick and Janeal Kuhns and Lucienne Glazebrooke; her amazing church family; and her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents. The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Greater Light Church, 317 Marine Dr, Anderson, IN 46016. The service will follow right after. Her son, Pastor Michael Johnson, will be officiating. Burial will be in Grovelawn Cemetery. All memorial contributions in Loretta’s name, to assist with funeral expenses, may be gifted to Greater Light Church.
