Lorene Collins

Lorene Collins, 94, Lapel, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her home.
She was born on April 24, 1916, in Madison County, Indiana to Alva and Mary (Teeters) Rich.
Lorene retired as a buyer for Rutland Department Store in St. Petersburg, FL.
She was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church and was involved in many church activities; she truly enjoyed gardening
She is survived by two daughters, Jane (husband, Alfred) Alyne of McCordsville, and Sue (husband, John) Norris of Lapel; one granddaughter, Kim (husband, Jeff) Mackey of Lapel; one great-granddaughter, Whitney Mackey; one sister, Kathleen Anderson of Atlanta, GA; and one brother, Abs (wife, Velma) Rich of Lapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Everett Coverdale; her second husband, Edward J. Collins; one brother, Cassel Rich; and a sister, Margaret Whetstone.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Pastor Steve Holdzkom officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
