Lora Lea Smith

Lora Lea Smith, 74, Anderson, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, at her home following a sudden illness. She was born on February 4, 1938, in Caretta, West Virginia to Kelly and Lucinda (Dobson) Bolen. Lora retired in 2003 from O-I Brockway Glass in Lapel after 42 years of employment. She was a member of the Mount Moriah Order of Eastern Star and was an avid bingo player. She was also enjoyed traveling. She is survived by two children, Floyd (wife, Jani) Hall of Anderson, and Nancy (husband, Tim) Flaugher of Washington state; one brother, Elbert "Butch" Bolen of Bellview, OH; one sister, Lois Luna of Willard, OH; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and special friends, Maxine Powers, Herma White, and Ethel Snyder. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jody M. Smith, Sr.; and two sons, Robert Wayne Hall, and Jody M. Smith, Jr. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans, 8615 E 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
