Linda Jo Busby

Linda (Appleby) Busby, 80, Anderson, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Countryside Manor in Anderson following an extended illness. She was born on August 19, 1933, in Anderson, Indiana the daughter of Lee Free and Gladys Free Appleby. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1951 and worked at Delco Remy in the 1950's. From 1971 to 1993 she worked as head Customer Service Representative at Farm Bureau Insurance as well as Northgate True Value Hardware both in Anderson until 2012. She liked to cook and bake, often sharing her dishes with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reminiscing. She is survived by two sons, Bret (wife, Ranaye) Busby and Randy Busby both of Anderson; two granddaughters, Amy Busby of Anderson; and Kelsie Busby of Pendleton; two brothers, Jack (wife, Bobbi) Appleby of Frankton and Brooke (wife, Jackie) Appleby of Venice,Florida; her half-sister, Martha (husband, Phil) Kuhns of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Kent Stookey officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Parkinson Disease Foundation, or The Christian Center.
