Linda Jane Hamel

Linda Jane (Harp) Hamel, 72, of Middletown passed away on February 14, 2021 at her home. Linda was born on November 16, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to Kenneth L. and Ora S. (Johnson) Harp. She moved to Madison County when she was 10 years old and was a 1967 graduate of Anderson High School. On September 2, 1967, she married her husband, David Lee Hamel and they began their life together. She was a member of the Main Street Church of God, where she taught Sunday School and assisted with the Daisey Troop. Linda also taught preschool at the Ark Daycare Ministries in Middletown. In her free time, Linda also loved to go fishing and to read. Linda is survived by her husband, David Lee Hamel; three children: David Lee (Laura) Hamel, Jr., Jason (Jami) Hamel and Kimberly (Joshawa) Trennepohl; ten grandchildren; sisters: Lawanda Auker, Vermila Krieg, Alamaria Vaughn and Nancy Thomas. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Harp. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday February 19, 2021 at Main Street Church of God, 4211 Main Street Anderson. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at the church. Those attending services are asked to wear a mask and observe social distancing. Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
