Linda Isabel Conrad

Linda Isabel Conrad (Busby), 85, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2023.

Linda was born to Miriam and Eugene Busby on July 14, 1938. Linda graduated from Lapel High School in 1956. After high school, she became a homemaker and began her matriarchy.

Through Lapel High School, she met Don Laurel in Lapel. After marriage, Linda and Don went on to live at the family farm and have five children: Brenda, Brian, Brent, Bart, and Barry.

Linda enjoyed every minute she had with her family. Her favorite title was Mimi, which her nine great-grandchildren called her. She also enjoyed spending time at Bethel Church where she was an original Butterfly Project Painter. She was an avid people-watcher and one could normally catch her in her driveway watching cars go by. Her hobbies included regulating the family farm, snow-skiing, birdwatching, reading Danielle Steele, daily crossword puzzles and watching Hallmark movies. She enjoyed taking lots of trips to Lake Cumberland.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Don; parents, Miriam and Eugene; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Barry Conrad Jr..

She is survived by a brother, Jack (wife, Linda) Busby of Lapel; sister, Julie Sisson of Noblesville; daughter, Brenda Dawson (Rick) of Pendleton, Brian (Merrie Jo) of Anderson, Brent (Catherine) of LaGrange, Georgia, Bart (Lisa) of Anderson and Barry (Rhonda) of Pittsboro; grandchildren Lauren Cobb (Dan) of Anderson, Rachel Bauer (Cammeron) of Lapel, Hilary Cabiness (Buddy) of Austin, Texas, Lia Vaughn (Blake) of Roswell, GA, Kara Riba (Garrett) of Laurel, Maryland, Jenna Williams (Kyle) of Washington D.C., Kayla Hinton (Mark) of Cicero, Matthew of El Segundo, California, Daniel (McKenzie) of Noblesville, Joseph (fiancée, Holly) of Dallas, Texas, Sarah Faith of Washington, Lydia Mowrey (Tristan) of Michigan and Bryce of Pittsboro; nine great-grandchildren who were near and dear to her heart; and several nieces and nephews, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Kristine Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Community Church, Attn: Butterfly Project, 4011 West 200 South, Anderson, Indiana 46011.
