Lewis P. Goodwin

Lewis P. Goodwin, 72, of Anderson, passed away on May 29, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Lafayette on November 16, 1947, the son of Lewis M. and Helen Jean (Holt) Goodwin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp having served two tours of duty in Vietnam where he earned a Purple Heart. He was a member of V.FW. Post #266 and American Legion Post #446. He was also very active in numerous civic organizations in his community. Lewis is survived by his mother, Helen Jean Goodwin; three children, Paul (Autumn) Goodwin, Mariellyn (Willie) Ward and Tony (Nikki) Goodwin; grandchildren, Megan Goodwin, Cody Bragg, Hunter Ward and Harper Goodwin; and sisters, Dorothea Sears and Polly (Larry) Branscum. He was preceded in death by his father, brother-in-law and two nephews. A memorial gathering will be held 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, Anderson, IN. Military honors will be held following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date at Marion National Cemetery.
