Leroy E. Harger

Leroy E. "Lee" Harger, 87, Noblesville, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness. He was born on April 26, 1925, in Noblesville, Indiana to Leroy and Luella (Cade) Harger. He attended Noblesville High School and served in the U. S. Army during WWII. Leroy retired from the former Firestone Industrial Products in Noblesville after over 30 years of employment. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel; the Central Indiana Airstream Club; and the Noblesville American Legion. Leroy enjoyed farming his family farm in rural Noblesville. He is survived by three children, Loretta (husband, Phil) McDowell of Sheridan, Ritch Harger of Noblesville, and Kris (husband, Mike) Blackburn of Fishers; two grandchildren, Ryan and Katelyn Blackburn; and one brother, Billie Jo (wife, Rose) Harger of Noblesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary M. (Barbee) Harger; and one brother, Don Harger. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion will perform military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
