LeRoy Barbee, 68, Anderson, passed away Wednesday June 11, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on June 10, 1935, in Lapel, Indiana to William and Nancy (Galliger) Barbee. He retired in 1990 from Brockway Glass in Lapel after almost 40 years of employment. He enjoyed his grandchildren and was an avid sportsman who would fish and hunt. He also enjoyed a good joke and loved to visit and have company in his home. He is survived by his wife, Delorice (Durham) Barbee; four children, William "Bill" Barbee of Perkinsville, Rhonda (husband, Greg) Perkins of Anderson, Leroy Wayne (wife, Beth) Barbee of Perkinsville, and David Ray Barbee of Shreveport, LA; six brothers and sisters, Sally (husband, Bill) Linkenhoker of Savannah, GA, James (wife, Carol) Barbee of Noblesville, Mary (husband, Lee) Harger of Noblesville, Barbara (husband, Don) Harrison of Anderson, Frank (wife, Juanita) Barbee of Burnswick, GA, and Judy (husband, Lynn) Springer of Savannah, GA; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; close friends, Charlie Watkins and Steve Perkins; and a large extended family. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Darrell Deck officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
