Mr. Leland Andrew Maddy

Leland Andrew Maddy, 88, of Shirley, passed away November 5, 2018. He was born July 11, 1930 in Providence to the late Leonard & Mary (Wyrick) Maddy. Leland graduated from Cadiz High School in 1948. He worked for Warner Gear in Muncie, having retired after 30 years. He had a passion for woodworking, gardening, horses, and livestock. He passed down his love and appreciation of nature to his children and grandchildren. Leland is survived by his children, Becky (husband, Mike) Romero of Louisville, KY, Rex (wife, Vicky) Maddy of Martinsville, and Gerri (husband, Steve) Smith of Anderson; grandchildren, Andy (wife, Lindsay) Romero, Erin (husband, James) Tobbe, Emily (husband, Wes) Bridwell, Craig (wife, Abbey) Maddy, Doug (wife, Megan) Maddy, Luke (wife, Marissa) Smith; Randy (McKenna) Smith, Jana (husband, Zach) Heider, Joshua Smith; great grandchildren, Harrison, Isabel, Jackson, Ryan, Connor, Reese, Drew, Jonah, Sloan, Elise, & Ezra; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis Ann (Alspaugh) Maddy; brother, Sanford Maddy; and sister, Connie Maddy. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 11, at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Wilkinson. Burial will be at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
