Lela P. Teeters

Lela P. Teeters, 96, Pendleton, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007, at her residence.
She was born on August 29, 1910, in Anderson, Indiana to Walter and Myrtle (Beeman) Martin.
Lela had been employed by Delco Remy for 13 years and she retired in 1972 from Grahams Department Store in Pendleton.
She is survived by one sister, Betty Quinn of Anderson; one daughter, Patricia Males of Pendleton; one step-daughter, Joan Rivers of Marion; two granddaughters, Teresa (husband, Ed) Wilson of Indianapolis, and Betsy (husband, David) Vest of Anderson; four great-granddaughters, Brandi (husband, Phil) Baker of Pendleton, Mandi (husband, Shane) Kemerly, Jessica (husband, Chris) Ricci, and Kamesa (husband, Michael) Swisher all of Lapel; six special great-great-grandchildren, Kelsea, Morgan, and Austin Baker, Braxton Kemerly, Caitlyn Ricci and Izabelle Swisher; five nieces, Sue (husband, Monte) Baker of Anderson, Linda (husband, Jim) Kerr of Alexandria, Tammie (husband, Bob) Detling of Smyrna, TN, Mildred (husband, Ivan) Manis of Middletown, and Evelyn Huntzinger of Pendleton; three nephews, Robert E. Martin of Grass Valley, CA, Ronnie Martin and Donnie Martin both of Florida. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Gary (wife, Connie) Rivers of Bremen, Sue Summers and Carol (husband, Rod) Wardwell both of Marion; and several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie B. Teeters; her son-in-law, Jimmie Males; her mother and father-in-law, Frank and Cora Teeters; three brothers, Hubert Martin, George Martin, and Jim Martin; and a step-grandson, Terry Summers .
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev.s Mark Helm and Andy Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
