Lela Marcen Bays

Lela Marcen Bays, 82 of Lapel, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at her home.

She was born on November 23, 1933, in Hislake, Kentucky, to John Perry and Delia (Foster) Muse.

Lela had worked at one time as a cosmetologist and had been employed by Firestone Industrial Products as a Lab Tech for 11 years.

She is survived by three sons, John H. (wife, Pamela) Bays, James R. (wife, Martha) Bays, and Jeffrey Bays; eleven grandchildren, Rusty, Calvin, Jennifer, Matthew, Clinton, Spencer, Ian, Jessica, Melinda, and Jack; one great granddaughter, Lilly; and one sister, Magdalene Stigall.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Mitchell.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 Main North Street, Lapel, Indiana with Pastor Gary Leeman officiating. Burial will follow in Aroma Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home.
