Lawrence E. Lee, 79, Pendleton, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on August 19, 1929, in Pendleton, Indiana to Robert and Vera (Huntzinger) Lee.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1949.
Lawrence retired in 1991 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors and also retired from farming the same year.
He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church in rural Pendleton.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Benedict) Lee; three children, Lisa (husband, John) Yost of Modesto, CA, Nadine (husband, Gerald) Riffey of Anderson, and Eric Lee of Anderson; one sister, Jean Dowden of Pendleton; and six grandchildren, Caitlyn Yost, Jenna Yost, Grant Riffey, Staci Riffey, Tonya Riffey, and Corbin Riffey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Pendleton. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pendleton.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, June 15, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
