Lawrence David Laut

Lawrence David "Larry" Laut, 67, Anderson, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Community Hospital of Anderson following an extended illness. He was born on August 1, 1945, in West Lafayette, Ohio to Kenneth and Dorothy (Potts) Laut. He served in the U. S. Army in the Vietnam War where he was awarded the bronze star. Larry retired in 2009 from O-I Brockway in Lapel after 37 years of employment. He was an avid New York Yankees and Michigan Wolverines football fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR. He is survived by two sons, Timothy (wife, Lisa Stewart) Laut of Anderson and Todd Laut of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Carly Mahoney of Anderson, A. J. (wife, Melanie) Varner of Pensacola, FL and Jordan Brackett of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 39 years, Meredith Ann (Wanner) Laut; and one brother, Thomas Laut. There will be no visitation or service. The family would like to extend their heart-felt appreciation to the 5th floor staff at Community Hospital and the Lapel Fire Department. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapel Fire Department, P. O. Box 999, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0999.
