Larry W. Shepherd

Larry W. Shepherd, 62, Pendleton, went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 15, 2008, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on March 12, 1946, in Anderson, Indiana to Harold and Lavon (Mills) Shepherd.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1964 and received a Bachelor's Degree from Tennessee Temple University in 1981.
Larry retired in 1999 from Delco Remy after 30 years of employment he also was involved in construction both alone and with his brother, son, and nephew.
He was a member of Anderson Baptist Church where he was chairman of the deacon board.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tressa (Forney) Shepherd; three children, Scott (wife, Amy) Shepherd, Andrew (wife, Deb) Shepherd of Lapel, and Julie (husband, Ed) Achenbach of Hamilton County; his mother Lavon "Bonnie" Shepherd of Pendleton; one sister, Janet (husband, Bob) Parker of Pendleton; two brothers, Joseph (wife, Beth) Shepherd of Richmond, and Ken (wife, Jackie) Shepherd of Fortville; ten grandchildren, Scott Austin, Melody, Gabrielle, Ethan, Quinn, and Hannah Shepherd, Josh Rose, Braydon, Nathan, and Ean Achenbach.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Anderson Baptist Church in Anderson, 4301 Scatterfield Road, Anderson with Pastors Charles Webb and Ken King officiating. Private burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Anderson Baptist Church, 4301 Scatterfield Road, Anderson, Indiana 46013.
