Larry Lee Crenshaw, 59, Anderson, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Rush Memorial Hospital in Rushville following an unexpected accident.He was born on December 6, 1960 in Columbus, Indiana. Larry graduated from Highland High School in 1979, attended Ball State University, and graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield in 1994.He currently was a member of The City of Anderson Police Department in the Investigations Division as a Detective. He was elected to the Madison County Council and served as President in 2004-2012. He was the former City of Anderson Police Chief from 2012-2016. Larry worked as a Security Officer for Anderson Community School Corporation for many years. He previously worked for Culligan Water Company as a Sales Service Manager from 1981-1994. Larry was a loving husband, dad, and Poppy. Larry was quite the family man and adored his entire family. He enjoyed coaching baseball and most recently was the pitcher for his grandsons baseball team. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed playing golf and ping pong with his son, Hogan. On most vacations you could find Larry on his raft or boat. He is survived by his loving wife Laura (Windlan) Crenshaw of 39 years of Anderson; children, Lindsay (John) Norris of Indianapolis, Keely (Matt) Spangle of Indianapolis, and Hogan Crenshaw of Anderson; brother, Baron Dakota of Anderson; sister, Debra Chapman of IL; and a half sister, Becky Spears of Anderson; grandchildren, Johnny and Robby Norris. He is also survived by his mother in law, Lou Windlan of Anderson; his brothers in law, Rod, Bobby (Janet), and Tod (Stacey) Windlan and many nieces and a nephew. Lastly, Larry was survived by his second family, Barry and Wilma Gaar and Barb Walton. Larry was preceded in death by his father in law Bob Windlan, and angel granddaughter Luana Norris.A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 9, 2020, at Bethany Christian Church 1920 N. Rangeline Rd, Anderson, with Pastor Chris Mishler officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Bethany Christian Church.Memorial contributions may be made to The Larry Crenshaw Memorial Scholarship Fund at Anderson High School.The family, staff at the funeral home, and the Bethany Christian Church request that everyone wears a mask who is attending the visitation and service.Hersberger-Bozell Funeral home is honored to serve the Crenshaw family.
