Larry J. Hexamer, 84, of Pendleton, passed away March 30, 2018 in Anderson after an extended illness. He was born on April 9, 1933 in Anderson to the late Vearl and Mabel (Keffer) Hexamer and had resided in Anderson and Pendleton all of his life. He obtained an associates degree in dental technology from New York University while in the United States Air Force and completed a tool maker apprenticeship thru Delco-Remy where he worked as a tool maker until he retired in 1999 after 47 years of employment. Larry served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, U.A.W. 662 and was past BZA Chairman Zoning Committee. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (McGill) Hexamer of Pendleton; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Michael Lakes of Pendleton; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Marta Hexamer of Alpharetta, Ga; grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, Andy Meyer of Fishers, Benjamin Hexamer of Alpharetta, Ga; and Eleanor Hexamer of Alpharetta, Ga; two sisters, Evelyn (Harvey) Brown and Sandra (Jack) Huntzinger; brother, Tim (Denise) Hexamer and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Rachel Lakes and brother, Vearl Patrick Hexamer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
