Larry G. Cochran

Larry G. Cochran, age 81, of Pendleton, died on March 14, 2024 after a brief illness.

He was born March 2, 1943 in Tipton, Indiana, son of Glenn and Marjorie Parnell Penny and lived in southern Madison County most of his life. He was employed at Fields Auto Salvage, Chrysler Corp, and retired from Plant 11 Delphi Automotive after 34 years of service. He was a US Army veteran and served in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He owned and operated Fortville Sports in Fortville for 10 years.

He was a member of Fortville American Legion and Fortville Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Pendleton First United Methodist Church in Pendleton, IN. He enjoyed auctions, eBay, and maintained booths in several local antique malls. He greatly loved his family and was very proud of each one.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn A. Cochran; his mother, Yvonne Hill Cochran; birth mother, Marjorie Parnell Penny; sister, Teresa Prewett; and brother, Ronald Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Marianne (Zeis), whom he married on June 18, 1965; sons, Scott (Gail) Cochran of Monroe, GA and Steve (Brenda) Cochran of Pendleton, IN; grandchildren, Hannah (Joe) Chapman of Nashville, TN, Riley Cochran of Nashville, TN, Rob (Natasha) Cochran of Lawrenceville, GA, Makayla Cochran of Pendleton, IN and Drew Cochran of Pendleton, IN. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Glenn (Bud) Cochran, David Cochran, Brenda Aynes of Florida, Jeff Cochran of Pendleton, Debra Berry of Texas, Linda (Will) Barger of Underwood, IN, Steve (Sandy) Penny of Scottsburg, IN, Cindy Lakins of Scottsburg, IN, and Sheri (Steve) Herald of Austin, IN; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, March 18, 2024 at First United Methodist Church, 225 W. State St., Pendleton, IN 46064 with services at 1:00 PM followed by burial at Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton where military rites by the Fortville American Legion will be performed. Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be gifted to the Wounded Warrior Project. Wilson St. Pierre-Lahm Chapel have been entrusted with Larry’s services.
