Larry Shively 82, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2022, with his loving wife, Louise, by his side. He was born February 18, 1939, in Anderson to the late, Roy & Mary (Foland) Shively. Larry retired from General Motors after 42 years, having retired in 1999. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the church choir, and was active in Men’s Bible Study Fellowship. He was a proud member of the 1000 Point Club for Frankton High School Basketball and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Larry is survived by his wife, Louise (Smith) Brewer; sons, Mark (wife, Sandy) Shively & Todd (wife, Elizabeth) Shively; stepsons, Greg Melton & David (wife, Heather) Melton; grandchildren, Celeste (husband, Mike) Newman, Jared (wife, Kelsey) Shively, Evan & Jack Shively; step grandchildren, Zachary, Logan, & Charles Melton; brother, Marshal (wife, Janice) Shively; sister, Martha Beason; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Shively; brothers, James Shively & Walter Shively; and sister, Margaret Ludwick. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 am Monday at Davis Park in Anderson, with Pastor Corinne Boruff officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services at 10 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church to be used for care of the Davis Park facility.
