Larry David Smith, 73, of Pendleton, Indiana passed away May 31, 2019.He was born September 24, 1945 in Indianapolis and was a Pendleton resident since 1988.Larry retired from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Indianapolis in 2008 after 10 years of service, previously he was manager of the Finance Center Credit Union, Indianapolis from 1975 to 1989.He was a 1963 graduate of Martinsville High School and was a US Army veteran. Larry was a former member and past commander of AMVETS Post #26, Pendleton. He was a member of Fortville Church of the Nazarene and Blue Seas Health and Wellness Gym in Fortville. Larry enjoyed fishing, motorcycling and horseback riding, but most especially being with his family.He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick D. and May Evelyn (Robling) Smith; and his sisters, Louella Barnett and Patty Seeley.Survivors include his beloved wife, Martha L. (Clark) Smith whom he married, June 6, 1987; daughters, Natalie (Rex) Finley of Freetown, Denise (Doug) Letsinger of Lebanon and Beth (Dustin) Hineman of Pendleton; son, Jason of Greenfield; 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Grace, Emily, Peter, Evie, Rebekah, Jacob, Max, Cole and David; and a sister, Debbie (Gregg) Ollier of Coatesville.A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Fortville Church of the Nazarene, 701 S. Maple St., Fortville, Indiana 46040 with Pastor Phil Edwards officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
