Larry L. Caplinger, 73, of Anderson, passed away October 9, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born on January 19, 1942 in Shepardsville, IN to the late Edwin Allen and Leona Mae Caplinger and has resided in Anderson since 1955.
He retired from Delphi in 2006 after 30 years of service.
He was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, U.A.W. Local 662 and served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carol (Wilson) Caplinger of Anderson; two sons, Larry L. Caplinger, Jr. and Ralph “Link” Caplinger both of Anderson; step daughter, Teresa (Paul) Dennis of Middletown; step son, David (Linda) Zickefoose of Anderson; grandchildren, Brandon Caplinger of Anderson, Jennifer (Carlo) Roam of Indianapolis, Kelsey (Tony) Huston of Anderson; step grandchildren, Corey Holden of Andeson and Leah (Michael) Cooper of Middletown; five great grandchildren; sister, Vicki (Gene) Hall of Anderson; brothers, Allen (Barbara) Caplinger of Andeson, Dennis (Cindy) Caplinger of Marion and Jimmy Eddington of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ilene Eddington, Ella Rose Roberts, Carol Jacks, Terri Hogan and Karen Davis.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. John Hackney and Rev. Brad Storm officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, Indiana.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
