Kenneth N. Dickerson, 64, formerly of Jefferson City, MO and Lapel, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Overland Park Regional Hospital in Overland Park following a one year illness.
He was born on November 6, 1945, in Anderson, Indiana to Neal and Jesse (Meeker) Dickerson.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1964. He attended Indiana Business College and a school of auctioneering.
Ken worked in the auto parts department for several Ford dealerships in the central Indiana area and he traveled with an auto parts inventory auditing company throughout the Midwestern and Eastern states.
He served as a member of the Lapel Planning Commission and was a founding member of the Lapel High School Class of 1964 Scholarship Committee.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, and the Lapel Eagles Arie 4313.
He is survived by his mother, Jesse Dickerson of Holts Summit, MO; one sister, Linda (husband, James) Ennis of Jefferson City, MO; one niece, Ashley (husband, Chad) Greeno of Shawnee, KS; a nephew, Andrew (wife, Sara) Ennis of Prairie Village, KS; a great-niece, Riley Greeno; and two great-nephews, Brady and Chase Greeno.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, May 14, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Kenneth Sandefur officiating. His ashes will be placed in Brown County, Indiana where he enjoyed summer gatherings with friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, May 14, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapel High School Class of 1964 Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 964, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0964.
