Kenneth Howell

April 4, 1920 — January 4, 2016

Kenneth Howell, 95, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at Westminster Village in Muncie.

He was born April, 4, 1920, in Cammack to the late Charles & Cora (Sizelove) Howell.

Kenneth worked for Frankton-Lapel Community Schools, and retired as principal from Jackson Twp. Elementary. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 343rd Engineer Regiment having served at Battle of the Bulge during WWII.

He graduated from IU in 1950. He was a member of the Frankton Masonic Lodge #607 F. & A.M., the Murat Shrine, the American Legion Post #24, & the Alexandria Elks Lodge #478. He was also a 75 year member of the International Union of Bricklayer & Allied Craftsman.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jeanne (Inglis) Howell; sons, Bruce (wife, Jan) Howell of Anderson, South Carolina and Lynn (wife, Carolyn) Howell of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother, Jim Howell of Delray Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Mark Howell & Melinda Fraser; great granddaughter, Harper Howell. He was preceded in death by his children, Karin & Kevin Howell; and sisters, Edith Howell & Louie Alice Howell.

Masonic services will be conducted by Frankton Masonic Lodge at 12 p.m. Thursday, followed by funeral services at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of services. Entombment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation of the services provided to Ken, in the last six months, Westminster Village Muncie, Alexandria Medical Arts, & Gentiva Hospice.
