Kenneth Hensley

Kenneth Kenny Hensley, 73, Anderson, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009, at Henry County Hosptial in New Castle following an extended illness.
He was born on October 6, 1935, in North Vernon, Indiana to Boyd and Nora (Smith) Hensley.
Kenny owned and operated Ken's Shell, Inc. in Anderson, Indianapolis, and Pendleton and was formerly employed at The Fireplace and Gas Center in Anderson and he had been a service technician for vent-free fireplaces and gas logs.
He was a member of Highland Baptist Church where he taught the children's Sunday school class; and a former member of the Pendleton Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn (Hill) Hensley; three sons, Robert (wife, Carol) Hensley, Kenneth Hensley, Jr., and Ivan Hensley all of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Cristi Ripperdan, Robert Hensley, Jr., Daniel Hensley, David Hensley, Hannah Hensley, Laura Hensley, and Brooke Howe; three great-grandsons, Austin Ripperdan, Landon Hogge, and Andrew Hensley; one brother, Luther Hensley of Lapel; five sisters, Naomi Manlove of Lapel, Betty (husband, Ralph) Knotts of Anderson, Patsy (husband, Dick) Kern of Pendleton, Becky (husband, Dennis) Warstlar of Indianapolis, and Marcia Niccum (fiance, John Cooper) of Lapel; a brother-in-law, Bill (wife, Pat) Hill of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Cleona Harless; and his mother and father-in-law, Paul and Clara (Wiles) Hill.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Joyce Gaunt officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
