Kenneth Brantlinger

Kenneth Brantlinger, 83, Lapel, passed away Friday, September 12, 2008, at Saint Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following a two month illness.
He was born on February 18, 1925, in Ingalls, Indiana to Ernest and Pearl (Hooper) Brantlinger.
Kenneth was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II where he served in central Burma and India Burma. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two bronze stars. He was a member of Lapel American Legion Post 212, Anderson V. F. W. Post 266, and the Lapel Eagles Arie 4323. He enjoyed working with flowers.
He is survived by two sisters, Alberta (husband, Dave) Gerber of Noblesville, and Lavonne (husband, Bill) Hobbs of Lapel; seven nieces; seven nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert Brantlinger, and John C. Brantlinger.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 15, 2008, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Lapel American Legion.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Monday, September 15, 2008, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
