Kelly Salyer, age 87, of Anderson, passed away October 8, 2016 at Rawlins House after an extended illness. He was born March 19, 1929 in Magoffin County, KY, the son of the late Roland and Della (Rowe) Salyer. He married Cora Donathan on June 18, 1955 and together they raised their family. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Army during the Korean War. Kelly worked for Emge Meat Packing, retiring in 1990. He was a past master of the Markleville Masonic Lodge #629. He is survived by his wife, Cora Salyer, of Anderson; sons, Kelly Dwayne (Sherry) Salyer, of Frankton and Randell (Jonny) Salyer, of New Mexico; daughters, Tracey (Kerry) Davis, of Pendleton, Donna (Roger) Baker, of Columbus, OH and Karen Gentry, of Anderson; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister, Oneda Marchetti, of Middletown, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. The family would like to thank the staff at the Rawlins House for their wonderful care and service. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Joe Roysdon officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. conducted by the Markleville Masonic Lodge #629 F.&A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
