Kay F. Reynolds, beloved mother and friend, died Friday, March 18, 2022 in her adopted hometown of Raymore, Missouri. Prior to moving to Missouri in 2019, Kay resided in Anderson, Indiana. She was 83 years old.
Kay was born Kay F. Waugh in 1938 to E. Maxine (Stansberry) and Orville Waugh. She was very athletic in her younger life and enjoyed bowling, which is where she met her husband, Clarence H. Reynolds. They married in 1961.
Kay was fortunate in enjoying two varied careers. At 18, she started as a telephone operator at Delco-Remy; at the time of her retirement, she worked in the transportation department, which she enjoyed immensely. Not one to stay stationary for long, Kay started her second career at H&R Block. She thrived at her “temporary” job, where she was proficient at completing complex tax returns and teaching others the intricacies of navigating the tax world. She finally quit working at a young 79 years of age.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Stephanie A. Reynolds; her brother-in-law, Robert Hart; several nieces and nephews, including grand nieces and nephews; as well as her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents; and her three siblings, Judith Newby, Peggy Hart, and Penny Waugh.
She had a variety of interests, including the art of knitting, computer programming, and playing the piano, all of which were self-taught. Her absence will be felt by all her family and friends, as well as her two furry shadows, Miss Maddie and Master Monster.
