Kay E. Kierstead

Kay E. Kierstead, 79, Anderson, passed away November 3, 2018, at her residence. She was born November 22, 1938, in Muncie, the daughter of the late Cleatis and Eva Nelson. She was a 1956 graduate of Anderson High School and retired after 32 years from Guide Lamp. Kay was a member of the Chesterfield Christian Church and the UAW-CIO Local #663. She is survived by her three children, Kim Schildmeier, Eric Kierstead and Karla Kierstead all of Anderson; four grandchildren, Andrew Garrett, Kelsey Garrett, Katie Rose and Maren Kierstead; one great grandchild, Karter Johnson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Roland E. Kierstead; a granddaughter, Lynsey Schildmeier; two brothers, Kenneth and Max Nelson. Graveside service will be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Jessica & Lynsey Foundation, Animal Protection League, Madison County Humane Society or the Salvation Army. Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory are handling the arrangements.
