Kathryn Irene Mitchell

Kathryn Irene Mitchell, 94, of Lapel, passed away on October 4, 2023.  Kathryn was born on January 7, 1929 in Anderson, IN to the late Everett and Jessie (Brookshire) Smith.

Kathryn graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s Degree.  In her free time, she enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and quilting.  She was even an original member of the Quilt Guild in Pendleton.

Kathryn is survived by her son, Mark (Maryann) Mitchell; daughters, Jennifer Musick, Nancy (Jack) Hartley, and Emily Jayne Stark; grandkids, Greg Goettmann, Carrie Panning, Addie Clark, Jacob Musick, Susan Purciful, and 8 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Mitchell; her parents; brother, Bob Smith; sister, Wilma Sumner.

Visitation will be from 12 PM to 1 PM, Monday, October 9, 2023 at Wilson St. Pierre-Lahm Chapel.  The funeral ceremony will begin at 1 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park.
