PENDLETON- Kathleen Sue (Gustin) Simpson, 72, of Pendleton, went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2022 following a brief illness.
She was born on April 18, 1950, in Anderson. She was a 1968 graduate of Pendleton High School.
She was a Team Lead Accounting Technician at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) for 37 years.
She loved to sew and was an accomplished seamstress. She started “Kathy’s Creations”, making designer doll clothes. During the pandemic she made face masks, graciously donating over 3,300 and selling thousands more for only the cost of materials.
Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her beloved son, Darin Simpson; two cherished grandsons, Quentin and Myles Simpson; siblings, Kim (Ron) Barnhart, David Cook, DeAnn (Tom) Wehner, Andrea (Rick) McClain, Nora Wilson; many nieces and nephews; her very special friend, Bob Dishman, best friend Lisa Cook, and her work family at DFAS.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Valencia and David Cook, father and step-mother, Jack and Vianna Gustin and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Voyles.
A celebration of life will take place Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will conclude with a brief service led by Pastor Michael Canada at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pendleton Emergency Ambulance of Pendleton Fire Department.
