Ms. Karen Sue Treutel

Karen Sue Treutel, 74, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 6, 1948 in Anderson. Karen graduated from Pendleton High School in 1966 and retired from DFAS at Fort Benjamin Harrison, having worked there for 26 years.

Karen enjoyed spending time at the library. When at home she enjoyed her extensive movie collection and listening to music. However, above all else she was an avid animal lover.

She is survived by her children, Alia Kordes, Brian (Jennifer) Kordes, Rachelle (Sheena) Stine, & Brandon (Katelynn Cheever) Treutel; grandchildren, Zilynn Ashley, Zran Ashley, Z’rayah Ashley, Zyrece Ashley, Dagan Kordes, Katherine Kordes, & Truett Kordes; six great grandchildren; sisters, Belinda Jo Burke & Ellen Pierce; stepsiblings, Sid Castor & Julie Johnson; four-legged companion, Mama Cat; and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin G. Treutel; son, James Brown; mother & stepfather, Roselyn & Richard Hughes; and father, Gene Morgan.

Graveside services will be at 1pm Wednesday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League of Indiana.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
