June Ann Stewart

June A. Stewart, 89, of New Castle formerly of Wilkinson passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Greenfield Health Care Center. She was born May 5, 1931 in Albuquerque, New Mexico the daughter of the late Solon and Genevieve (Smith) McBride. June retired from Fort Harrison Civil Service after 30 years of service and was a member of the Madison Park Church of God in Anderson. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved reading, hiking, knitting, and gardening. She is survived by her husband Ben Stewart of whom she was married to for 70 wonderful years, daughter, Phyllis (Mailon) Dusang of Knightstown; sons, Kevin (Sharron) Stewart of New Palestine, and Eric (Carole) Stewart of New Castle, grandchildren, Alison (Jason) Bailey, Amanda (JB) Baines, Daniel Dusang, Abigail (Sam) Burnett, Angela (David Lee) Trackwell and Andrea (Zach) Mackie, nine great grandchildren; sister, Mary Alyce (Robert) Smith, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Condo and St. Pierre Funeral Service in Wilkinson with visitation from 10 am to 12 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery. The family has required that all visitors please wear a mask and practice social distancing at visitation and service.
