Juanita Mcdaniel

Juanita McDaniel, 92, Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born on November 18, 1922, in Mt. Vernon, Indiana to Arthur and Nellie (James) Terrell. Juanita worked in nursing in her earlier years and had lived in Lapel for 52 years. Juanita was a member of the Lapel American War Mothers and had held the office of state president for two terms. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Jim (wife, Bonnie) Reynolds of Jamestown, KY and Joe (wife, Marji) McDaniel of Sterling Heights, MI; three brothers, Arthur Terrell of Georgia, Don (wife, Vera) Terrell of Crossville, IL, and Bob (wife, Barbara) Terrell of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Francis Terrell of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, Andrea, Diana, Michael, Justin, and Brianne; nineteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Louis McDaniel; three brothers, Bud, Roy, and Bill; and a sister, Ruth. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel with Pastor Stephen Holdzkom officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion General Baptist Church.
