Juanita Lantrip

Juanita Lantrip, 93, of Anderson, passed away January 4, 2016 at Community Hospital.

She was born August 15, 1922 in Columbus, Ky., the daughter of the late Ervin and Artie (Vaughn) Gifford.

Juanita was married in 1947, to her late husband Gerald, and together they moved to Anderson in 1950. She was an executive secretary with Guide Lamp for 27 years. Juanita was an active member of Central Christian Church, where she was involved in several ministries including teaching Sunday school.

Juanita was a real people person and excelled at friendliness. Her many talents included being an excellent cook and seamstress.

She is survived by her nephew, Jerry Gifford; her two nieces, Jeanetta Ray Berry, and Rita Adams; several great and great great nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Lynn and Charlie High.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gerald Lantrip; four sisters and three brothers.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St. Anderson, with Lay Pastor’s Jim Millikan and Gary Schuster Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church.
